ARTISTS Vanessa Haynes Originally from Trinidad, but now living in London, Vanessa has one of the most passionate and powerful voices. And a great talent for writing, and interpreting songs. Change of Weather recorded her first CD at Eastcote Studios and it featured Co-writes with keyboard player Jeff Young (Jackson Brown, Sting, Steely Dan), and bassist Paul Carmichael, who also produced it. When she came to the attention of Paul Carmichael he knew he had work with her. She was beginning to make waves wherever she sang. Not only was she getting all the musicians excited, but also she had that other rare quality, so often lacking in introverted talents she had great charisma and contact with the audience. An instinctive interaction. It is on a Vanessa Haynes live show, that the true power of her talent can be seen and heard web site (www.vanessahaynes.com) Vanessa Haynes by changeofweather She went on to do backing vocals for the great Van Morrison, Razorlite, and solo features in Japan working with M-Swift. She is currently on tour as featured singer with INCOGNITO. Become a fan on Facebook. Or check out YOu Tube - such as this. Paul Carmichael - GO TO WEBSITE My obsession with playing bass and improvising made me go professional around the age of 21. I played in bars and clubs around town at night, and by day practiced and rehearsed. This was in the late 70s. Soon after that I met Ian Carr (trumpeter and composer,) who ran the classic British Jazz Rock band Nucleus. This led to several tours of Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. For A full bio please go to Pauls personal website www.paulcarmichael.com When I started recording the new Album, Wax is Melting at the beginning of 2010 I knew how the music should go since we had been playing it regularly. But on this recording I explored some other ideas about how instrumental improvised music should go, so I prefer to call this a World Album rather than a Jazz album, but its both!
